I have tested this with my own painted pair and it works! For cleaning, I'd recommend a gentle soap around the edges- not on the canvas preferably- or a baby wipe. If you do need to clean the canvas, I'd recommend buying yourself a cheap can of waterproofing spray just to avoid any future damages!
